Associate Director DMPK and Bioanalysis - Stockholm - Avslutad

The client company is an innovative, specialised research company that develops new drugs. The company was founded 20 years ago and are located in the south of Stockholm. It has research both in Sweden and in the UK. The company are, in terms of R&D projects and employee headcount, one of the largest pharmaceutical research companies in the Nordic region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the DMPK group within the company, both In Vitro, In Vivo and Bioanalysis
  • Lead a team with seven colleagues in Sweden and three in the United Kingdom
  • Be responsible for developing and carrying out strategies for DMPK and to make necessary priorities in order to focus on important issues
  • To be the company''''s expert in DMPK matters towards external interested parties and take part in different discussions and negotiations as the DMPK representative of the company
  • Be responsible for, together with colleagues, identifying relevant metabolic and pharmacokinetic issues addressing different metabolic, pharmacokinetic and to some extent pharmacodynamic problems in research projects
  • Collaborate with scientists and functions working with clinical development in the company in the work to transfer projects over to Man
  • Be responsible to develop the DMPK group collaboration in matters related to the relation between preclinical research, toxicology and clinical research
  • To work with pharmacokintec calculations to some extent to create some extra resource when necessary in that area
  • Line manager with responsibility for the team and team members development and performance appraisals, as well as salary reviews in the Swedish organisation
  • Dotted line management responsibility towards the DMPK team in the UK
  • Budget responsibility for the company DMPK research and development

Education and experience:

  • University degree in relevant Science
  • Strong background in pharmacokinetics and metabolism
  • Experience from DMPK work in different project situations and with different issues and problems solving within the DMPK area
  • Experience from pharmacodynamic issues is an advantage
  • Good spoken and written english
