Senior Toxicologist – Swedish Orphan Biovitrum - Avslutad

We are now looking for a Senior Toxicologist with long experience from non-clinical safety in pharmaceutical industry. This person will provide non-clinical safety and toxicology expertise to support existing products and development of new recombinant protein drugs for rare specialist indications to add value for the patient. The position is placed within the section for Non-clinical Safety & Pharmacology, part of Drug Design & Development within Sobi Research and Development.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide safety and toxicology expertise and necessary non-clinical safety documentation to support existing products and development of new recombinant protein drugs
  • Provide toxicology strategy and in depth risk assessment for both early and late development projects
  • Outsourcing, monitoring and evaluating non-clinical safety and toxicology studies
  • Writing of non-clinical safety documentation and risk assessments to support regulatory submissions worldwide
  • Interactions with authorities
  • Safety assessment support to Drug Safety and Regulatory Affairs

Qualifications

  • Master in Toxicology, PhD in toxicology, pharmacology or similar preferred
  • At least 10 years of extensive experience from drug development and non-clinical safety/toxicology preferably within the area of biologics
  • 10 years of practical experience in conducting non-clinical safety studies and assessments
  • Extensive scientific experience from non-clinical safety and toxicology
  • Experience from in vivo pharmacology is a merit
